ZURU Snackles plush toys

Ninety-eight Snackles plush toys across eight ranges, from 3.5-inch clip-on keychains to the 16-inch Series 2 giants. Every size, every snack, one shelf.

The shelf

What a Snackle actually is

A Snackle is a round, ultra-soft plush animal that arrives holding a snack. Not a picture of a snack — a separate sewn accessory printed from the real packaging, stitched into its paws so it cannot be lost. A shark with a Hershey's bar. A chicken with a bottle of Tabasco. A platypus with a Subway sandwich.

We make them in five sizes. The 3.5-inch keychains clip to a bag. The 5-inch minis sit on a desk. Eight inches is the size most of the collection is built around. Fourteen inches is the hugging size, and sixteen inches is the one that needs its own chair. Every character carries a hangtag with its own bio, hobby, star sign and birthdate, and the Super-Sized range adds an origin story comic explaining how it fell for its snack.

Ranges

Eight ranges on one shelf

Each range has its own logic — a size band, a snack partner, a season or a licence. Start wherever the character grabs you.

Most picked up

Where most people start

If you have never bought one, these are the five that get picked up first — one from each of the sizes we make.

Sizes

Choosing a size

3.5-inch keychains

Clip-on, with a mini snack. Built to be dragged around on a backpack rather than kept on a shelf, so the loop is reinforced and the clip is metal.

5-inch minis

Desk-sized. This is where the blind capsules live — a sealed ball with one unknown Core Series 2 character inside, which is either the fun part or the frustrating part depending on your temperament.

8-inch plush

The standard. Most characters exist at this size, so if you are collecting a complete series rather than picking favourites, build the row here.

14-inch plush

The hugging size, and the only size the Ninja Turtles and most holiday characters are made in. Wide and low, so they sit flat without tipping.

16-inch plush

Series 2 only. Four inches larger than the 14-inch version of the same character, and considerably more than four inches more presence in a room.

The Snackles collection, range by range

Series 1: twelve named characters

Series 1 introduced twelve Snackles plush characters with names rather than species labels — Hetty the Yeti, Ellie the Monkey, Finn the Shark — each with a treasure they always carry. Rufus holds a frying pan with a fried egg in it. Rachel the lobster carries sushi. Lola the giraffe has a sundae taller than her own neck. Ten of those twelve are on this shelf. The treasures are not licensed snack brands here; they are objects the character loves, which is a different idea to the rest of the collection.

Most of Series 1 is made at 8 inches with four characters also produced at 14 inches. The hangtag on every plush carries the bio, the hobby, the star sign and the birthdate, so if you collect the stories as well as the toys, keep the tags on.

Series 2: real snack brands, three sizes

Series 2 is where Snackles started pairing plush toys with licensed snack brands. The shark holds a Hershey's Cookies 'n' Creme bar, the penguin holds a Baskin-Robbins tub, the hedgehog holds Mentos, and the shrimp holds either a Krispy Kreme doughnut or a tube of Pringles depending on which one you find. Each snack accessory is printed from the real packaging onto fabric and sewn into the plush, not clipped on.

This is the only range made in all three large sizes. A single character — the puppy with the Sonic burger, say — exists at 8, 14 and 16 inches, which makes a size ladder possible for collectors who want one character three ways. Thirty-two Series 2 plush toys are currently on the shelf, which is a third of everything we list.

Series 3: the new wave

Series 3 kept the named-character idea from Series 1 and brought back licensed snacks from Series 2. Josh the yellow chick has Haribo cola bottles. Marco the raccoon has toaster pastries. Matthew the highland bull has a net of Babybel, which is a cow holding cheese and we have made our peace with it. Max the pink axolotl and Olivia the spotted blue character are the two newest additions and are the ones collectors ask about most.

Fourteen Series 3 plush toys are listed, split between the 8-inch and 14-inch sizes.

Disney, Ninja Turtles and the licensed editions

The Disney Snackles are a limited run of seven characters — Stitch with a coconut water, Rex with popcorn, Pua with a coconut, Lotso with a strawberry smoothie, Alien with pizza, plus Minnie and Sulley at 14 inches without snacks. They are limited rather than ongoing, so they do not restock on the same cycle as the numbered series.

The Ninja Turtles edition is the only one where the characters carry weapons instead of food: Donatello with his bo staff, Michelangelo with nunchucks, Raphael with twin sai, all at 14 inches, plus a 5-inch mini.

Super-Sized: fourteen inches and a comic

The Super-Sized range is a separate 14-inch build — wider and lower than the Series 2 body of the same stated size — and every character comes with an origin story comic strip. The chicken with the Tabasco bottle is the one people remember. The elephant curls its trunk around a Chupa Chups lollipop. The cow and the unicorn both carry Froot Loops, which makes them an obvious pair.

Holiday editions and the small sized plush

Christmas, Halloween, Easter and the Love Edition each produced their own closed set. Halloween gave us Moon the Pumpkin, Raven the Ghost, Salem the Cat, Shadow the Spider and Draco the Vampire — Shadow is the only Snackle with eight legs. Christmas brought a Santa, a polar bear with Hershey's Kisses and Ginger the Gingerbread Man. These are seasonal, so stock moves in one direction only.

At the small sized end, the 5-inch minis and the 3.5-inch keychains are the cheap way in. The keychains come as a fixed two-pack with a mini snack each; the Core Series 2 capsule is blind, so you find out which character you have after you open it. Some people collect for display, some collect to trade, and the capsules exist entirely for the second group.

What every ZURU Snackles plush toy has in common

Whichever shelf you open, the build is the same. Every full-size Snackles plush toy is a squeezable plush in super soft fabric with a snack-themed treasure sewn into both paws, and a hangtag holding a birthdate, a hobby, a star sign and an origin story comic. An 8-inch Snackles is the collecting size, the 14-inch plushies are the hugs size, and a Super-Sized Snackle is the same design at a bigger super size with the fill packed harder so it keeps its shape on a display shelf.

The ranges differ in cast rather than in construction. Series 1 is the original ten characters. Series 2 is the big shelf of favorite snacks, where the pairings became real brands. Series 3 is the teen cast with human names. Snackles Disney puts Stitch, Rex, Minnie and the Alien on the same round body. The seasonal shelf collects Christmas, Halloween, Easter and Love Edition characters in short runs that are not reissued. And the Snackles small size minis, plus the clip-on charm duo, are the pocket versions designed to be carried rather than arranged.

That consistency is the reason the line is collected the way it is. Fans pick one favorite, usually an adorable 8-inch plush, and then start filling a shelf, because the characters were designed as a set and a row of them reads better than one on its own. Making a collection out of it takes no planning: pick a size, pick a shelf, add the cuddly friend you like. The joy of it is that the small adventure of finding the last character in a set never stops being fun, and there is plenty of room left for imagination once the box is open.

Questions we get asked

What are Snackles and what makes them unique?

Snackles are collectible plush toys that each come holding a snack accessory. What separates them from other soft toys is the licensing: the accessories reproduce real snack packaging on fabric rather than inventing a generic wrapper, and each character has a written personality on its hangtag rather than just a name.

Where can I find out which character is inside the package?

On everything except the blind capsules, the character is named on the listing and visible through the window of the box. The 5-inch Core Series 2 capsule is the one exception — it is sealed on purpose and you discover the character when you open it.

Are the snacks included with the plush toys real food?

No. Every snack accessory is fabric and stuffing with the packaging artwork printed on it. Nothing included with a Snackle is edible, and the accessories are sewn to the plush rather than loose.

How many different Snackles are there to collect?

Across every range we currently list ninety-eight separate plush toys. The number of characters is smaller than that, because many appear at more than one size — the Series 2 shark, for example, exists at 8, 14 and 16 inches with two different snacks.

What age group are Snackles intended for?

The plush are made for ages three and up, and the keychain range from one and up. In practice the collector base runs considerably older, which is why the Disney and licensed editions sell out faster than the rest.

Can the snack accessory be removed from the plush?

It is stitched in, so no — not without cutting threads. That is deliberate: a loose accessory on a toy this small would be gone inside a week. Some collectors do unpick the stitching to display the two pieces separately, but it cannot be undone.

How should I clean my Snackle if it gets dirty?

Spot-clean with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, then let it dry away from a radiator. We do not recommend a machine wash: the long-pile characters like Lucas and Robbie mat permanently, and the printed snack accessories can crack.
